This individual will play a key role in enhancing student learning and promoting effective teaching methodologies throughout the school. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to educational equity and a desire to empower both students and teachers.

  1. Master's Degree in or related to Educational Leadership (required)
  2. Maine Certification: Assistant Principal (required)
  3. Successful teaching experience, preferably at the middle level
  4. Ability and willingness to function within an administrative team on the building and district levels and in pursuit of system goals and initiatives
  5. Independent ability to anticipate, organize, and ensure completion of multiple and varied tasks required in the effective and efficient operation of a large middle school
  6. Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and educators to improve student engagement with school, inclusive of the management of student discipline
  7. Shares in the responsibility for establishing and maintaining a respectful, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff and parents/community
  8. Demonstrated experience and capability in instructional leadership and the supervision and evaluation of teachers.
  9. Works with the principal to analyze and report school and student data, prepares a variety of written reports and presentations, as requested by the Principal.
  10. Collaborates with the School Counselor and Principal to create the school’s master schedule.
  11. Coordinates the implementation of the Code of Conduct as well as local, state, and federal policies and regulations specific to student safety and services.
  12. Supervise the Assistant Athletic Director.
  13. Supervise student transportation.
  14. Assumes responsibility for the operation of the school in the absence of the Principal.
  15. Ability and desire to contribute to the pursuit of excellence with creative, flexible thinking
  16. Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
