This individual will play a key role in enhancing student learning and promoting effective teaching methodologies throughout the school. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to educational equity and a desire to empower both students and teachers.
- Master's Degree in or related to Educational Leadership (required)
- Maine Certification: Assistant Principal (required)
- Successful teaching experience, preferably at the middle level
- Ability and willingness to function within an administrative team on the building and district levels and in pursuit of system goals and initiatives
- Independent ability to anticipate, organize, and ensure completion of multiple and varied tasks required in the effective and efficient operation of a large middle school
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and educators to improve student engagement with school, inclusive of the management of student discipline
- Shares in the responsibility for establishing and maintaining a respectful, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff and parents/community
- Demonstrated experience and capability in instructional leadership and the supervision and evaluation of teachers.
- Works with the principal to analyze and report school and student data, prepares a variety of written reports and presentations, as requested by the Principal.
- Collaborates with the School Counselor and Principal to create the school’s master schedule.
- Coordinates the implementation of the Code of Conduct as well as local, state, and federal policies and regulations specific to student safety and services.
- Supervise the Assistant Athletic Director.
- Supervise student transportation.
- Assumes responsibility for the operation of the school in the absence of the Principal.
- Ability and desire to contribute to the pursuit of excellence with creative, flexible thinking
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
