Literacy Coach

The Penobscot River Educational Service Center (PRESC) is seeking a qualified individual to provide Tier 1 literacy instruction for K-3 educators.   This part time, grant funded, coaching position will work with a total of sixteen teachers, focusing on proven strategies that incorporate the science of reading instructional best practices inclusive of phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.  This grant is for the FY 26 school year and will begin in August. 

 The structure of the grant provides for:

• Two full days of training 

• Monthly two hour training sessions  

• Four in class coaching sessions for each of the participants

• Data collection on the impact of the coaching and training sessions

The literacy coach will be compensated at $100 per hour for instruction (28 hrs), planning (14 hrs), and  coaching (128 hrs). The literacy coach will be compensated for travel at the prevailing IRS rate and have a budget for supplies and materials.
