The Middle School Interventionist plays a critical role in supporting student academic success by delivering targeted instruction and interventions to students who are at risk of falling behind. This educator collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement effective strategies based on student data. The ideal candidate is data-driven, collaborative, and passionate about helping all students succeed.Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Intervention:
Deliver small-group or one-on-one academic interventions in reading, math, and/or writing based on identified student needs.
Implement research-based instructional strategies tailored to support struggling learners.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including students with IEPs or 504 Plans.
Data Collection & Progress Monitoring:
Use a variety of assessment tools and data sources
to identify students in need of intervention.
Monitor student progress regularly and adjust intervention strategies accordingly.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and intervention sessions.
Collaboration & Communication:
Partner with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators to design and coordinate support plans for students.
Participate in Student Support Teams (SST), MTSS, and RTI meetings to review student data and recommend next steps.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, intervention goals, and support strategies.
Professional Responsibilities:
Attend and participate in professional development related to intervention strategies, data analysis, and student support.
Stay informed about current best practices in academic interventions and adolescent learning.
Adhere to school and district policies and procedures, including those related to student confidentiality and FERPA.
