The Fayette School Department has an immediate opening for a highly qualified contracted part-time School Coundselor at the Fayette Central School in Fayette, ME. Fayette is a small rural elementary school, Gr. Pre-K through 5, approximately 15 miles west of Augusta. Responsibilities include:
Ability to develop strong personal connections with young students across many different topics;
Ability to create strong working bonds with parents and the community;
Understanding how to support students that have past traumatic experiences;
Experience with conflict resolution and positive behavior support programs;
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and administration;
Ability to assist with supporting students , staff, and coummunity throught the grieving process;
Abilty to work within school day hours;
Abilty to work effectively and collaboratively as part of an interdisci;iniary team, including school administration;
Assist teacher with desining and planning lessons that incorporate social emotional learning.
