Job Position: Long Term Substitute- Special Education Teacher

Location:   Boothbay Region High School

Date Position Available:    November 2025- January 2026

Work Days: 5 days per week/8 hours per day

Qualifications:  Appropriate State of Maine Special Education Teacher (282) Endorsement and current CHRC Authorization through the State of Maine Department of Education.

Position Overview: 

Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor CSD is seeking an energetic, flexible, and collaborative special education teacher to work as a long term sub in a high school special education program. Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.

  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to support differentiated instruction.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and compliance with Maine DOE procedures and paperwork.

  • Provide support in both a resource room setting and inclusive classroom settings.

  • Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student engagement and promotes a pathway to student independence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education

  • Valid ME teaching certification in Special Education (282).
