Professional Development Designer and Teacher Training Expert for High-School Computer Science Curriculum
Leading-edge project seeks a dynamic and collaborative individual who has an established record of engagement and accomplishments in professional development curriculum development at the K-12 level to be the Professional Development Curriculum Designer for our Computer Science Program.
The Professional Development Designer (PDD) will develop a comprehensive professional development curriculum and materials for the Computer Science Program. The PDD will also play a strategic role in promoting best practices in teaching and learning to best develop the academic staff, and supporting staff for the program.
This position will work closely with the Executive Director and Curriculum Development team and take on special projects as requested by the Project Director.
This position represents a rare opportunity to be part of building a world-class high school Computer Science program. It will be a project position. Location is flexible in the Greater Boston area (including Maine and coastal NH), but the PDD will need to be in Maine interspersed during the assignment.
Key responsibilities: Collaborate with the Program Directors to create a leading-edge teacher and supporting staff professional development program scheduled to be completed by December of 2019. Ensure the use of effective technology in the teaching-learning process. Communicate with the project team to incorporate feedback both before and during the professional development rollout. Define the qualities and characteristics of the staff necessary to ensure successful implementation of the curriculum.
B.S. or higher degree in relevant fields, including education, training and development, etc. Requisite specialty expertise and documented educational experience: at least ten years of experience. Strong record of accomplishment in K-12 education professional development and implementation. English proficiency in reading, speaking, writing, and teaching. Experience of working in multidisciplinary and collaborative educational teams. Experience in creating instructional training material for both in-person and online.
Strong knowledge/experiences in educational technology/T&L pedagogy.
