KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructional Planning and Delivery 

  • Design engaging lesson plans that bring learning to life for curious kindergarteners
  • Create hands-on activities and play-based experiences that make every subject exciting
  • Adapt your teaching style to reach every unique learner in your classroom
  • Watch students' faces light up as they master new concepts like letter recognition and counting
  • Transform everyday lessons into adventures that inspire a love of learning
  • Foster early literacy and numeracy skills through fun, developmentally appropriate activities

Assessment and Celebration of Growth 

  • Celebrate every victory, from first letters written to numbers recognized!
  • Use creative assessment methods, including play-based observations, portfolios, and developmental checklists
  • Track amazing progress through multiple engaging evaluation techniques, perfect for young learners

QUALIFICATIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Elementary school classroom environment with first-grade students
  • Regularly required to stand, talk, hear, walk, and sit throughout the day
  • Occasionally required to push or lift items such as boxes of books and AV/DVD carts (assistance required for items over 50 pounds)
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision for reading handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and educational output of students
  • Must meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and staff
  • Noise level is moderate to loud in the work environment
  • Duties performed indoors and occasionally outdoors
