Date Position Available: 2025-2026 School Year

Qualifications: Special Education (282) Certification and current CHRC Authorization through State of Maine Department of Education.

Description: MSAD 11 is seeking a dedicated Special Educator for a full-time position in the district’s K–5 STEPS program, which supports students with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.  We are seeking a candidate with experience designing and delivering individualized instruction for students with a range of cognitive, communication, behavioral, and sensory needs. Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and those with intellectual disabilities is essential. Familiarity with writing goals and progress monitoring is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will:

• Genuinely enjoy working with students to foster their academic and functional growth
• Work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, families, and service providers
• Be skilled in problem-solving, organization, and managing multiple responsibilities
• Have a solid foundation in differentiated instruction
• Have experience supervising a strong team of education technicians
