Location: Gardiner Regional Middle School and Gardiner Area High School

Date Position Available: 2025-2026 School Year

Qualifications: Special Education (282) Certification and current CHRC Authorization through State of Maine Department of Education.

Description: MSAD 11 is seeking a team-oriented, energetic, and innovative Special Educator to join our dynamic staff.  This full-time position provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students while working in a highly collaborative and supportive environment.  The successful candidate will bring strong communication and organizational skills and a commitment to inclusive education. This educator will work with students with behavioral needs across our middle and high schools, coordinating and delivering specially designed instruction, developing behavior plans, and consulting with colleagues, administration, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students are respected, valued, and empowered to succeed.
• Collaborate with educators, service providers, and administrators to coordinate and support instruction across settings.
• Use data to design, implement, and revise targeted interventions.
• Develop and review behavior plans in collaboration with the IEP team.
• Support, coach, and supervise education technicians, helping to build their capacity and support their work with students.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to promote shared understanding and success.
• Demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
