Starting Fall 2025
Biddeford Regional Center of Technology isseeking an individual who would contribute to a positive work environment, is passionate about teaching, and wants to make a difference in students' lives.
This position reports to the Director of BRCOT. This instructor will create a safe learning environment and encourage student engagement to prepare students to earn their state license as a Certified Nursing Assistant and pursue post-secondary education in the medical field. This program also provides dual enrollment college credits.
We serve approximately 450 students primarily from the following high schools: Biddeford, Old Orchard Beach, Thornton Academy, and the Kennebunks.
Our school offers coursework in the following career clusters: Business Studies, Career Exploration, Computer Technology, Career Exploration and Development, Engineering and Architectural Design, Auto Technology, Residential Carpentry, Electrical Technology, Manufacturing, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Plumbing and Heating, Culinary Arts and Hospitality, Teaching and Education, and Medical/Health Occupations
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Teaches the state-approved CNA standards and curricula, providing a clinical experience to prepare students to sit for the state exam.
2. Coordinate clinical experience with host sites.
3. Coordinate transportation between the school and host sites
4. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to create a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
5. Regularly assesses each student’s academic, social /emotional growth, and clinical skills, and maintains appropriate and timely records.
6. Communicates with parents through conferences and other means such as newsletters, email, phone calls, student information system postings (as applicable), in-person meetings
7. Maintains technological proficiency for instruction, reporting, and communicating.

Experience:
Teaching experience desirable
Experience in long-term and short-term care facilities
Qualifications:
- Current licensed Maine Registered Nurse
- Maine DOE Certification or eligibility for DOE Certification- 896
- Valid DOE fingerprinting certification
- Valid Maine driver’s licence
- American Heart Assoc. Certified in instructor certification in CPR/AED and First Aid
