The Special Education Teacher for the Tripp Middle School Behavior Support Program promotes and develops successful learning for students who are eligible for IDEA services, manages an assigned caseload, maintains regular communication with those students, their parents, and appropriate staff members and is responsible for development, revision and implementation of IEPs. The Behavior Support Program Teacher effectively supports the education of students who exhibit behavioral disorders.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education with 282 Special Educator state certification;
- Knowledge and experience in implementing trauma informed practices;
- Experience in student behavior management and collaborative problem solving or willingness to develop in these areas;
- Ability to lead and/or assist staff in physical management of students in crisis through Safety Care or relevant certification;
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents, in a variety of settings;
- The ability to work harmoniously and collaborate with others;
- Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons;
- Ability to write valid IEP’s and to follow IDEA procedures;
- Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods, district curriculum framework, education and special education law and appropriate instructional subjects.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Implement trauma informed practices;
- Plan, collaborate and Implement social emotional curriculums with fidelity;
- Assist and support the development, implementation and revision of student behavior intervention plans;
- Provide support to staff in all areas related to behavioral disorders and interventions;
- Plan and provide instruction to students following district curriculums;
- Provide instruction and direction to assigned education technicians to maximize delivery of instructional services;
- Collect appropriate student performance data for determining the extent to which student IEP goals and objectives are achieved.

Base Rate: $44,989.00
