ENRICHMENT SERVICES AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM COORDINATOR
POSITION OVERVIEW
Maine Indian Education seeks a dedicated and experienced Enrichment Services and After-School Program Coordinator to join our educational team at Indian Island Elementary School. This vital role will manage all aspects of enrichment services and after-school programming while fostering relationships with parents, students, school personnel, tribal agencies, and community organizations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with grant requirements while advocating for comprehensive student support and enrichment opportunities.
REPORTS TO: Principal
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, coordinate, and oversee comprehensive after-school and enrichment programs
- Assist program staff with planning for each programming cycle
- Implement, plan, and provide professional development activities for staff
- Recruit, train, and supervise program staff and volunteers
- Conduct regular observations of program activities using standardized observation forms
- Provide ongoing feedback to staff regarding performance and program delivery
- Meet biweekly with program staff to ensure quality program delivery
- Orchestrate family and community engagement activities at least four times each year
- Meet regularly with the Principal, school coaches, and the RtI team members to support student progress
- Coordinate with day school staff to integrate after-school support into individual student plans
- Oversee survey administrations to incorporate feedback from students, families, teachers, and the community
- Administer the Developmental Assets Profile twice annually
- Develop curriculum and activities that complement classroom learning while providing unique enrichment
- Complete quarterly budget reconciliation and manage program budget
- Seeking additional funding opportunities for program sustainability
- Maintain compliance with all grant proposal requirements and reporting deadlines
- Provide data management and reporting for program compliance
- Coordinate regular communications between the day school and the after-school program staff
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience with supervision of personnel and program management
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proven success with program development
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid Criminal History Record Check (CHRC)
- Must follow the school committee's drug testing policy
- Native American Preference
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Native American communities and cultural programming
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and social-emotional learning
- Experience with program evaluation and data-driven improvement
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- School and community environment with frequent travel
- Ability to perform all necessary upper and lower body functions
- Must maintain daily activity logs and travel documentation
- Standard school setting with community outreach responsibilities
- Reliable transportation is required for position duties
- May require evening and weekend hours for programming activities
